Join the Modules Project!

Nelson Education Ltd. is proud to present Visions: The Canadian History Modules Project, an innovative approach to creating a reader for your students. Designed to be used in conjunction with a core text, each individual module is built on a common framework, but is delivered via our custom publishing program. Visions allows you the flexibility to choose a selection of topics and readings combining primary and secondary sources while giving your students the seamless experience that can only be delivered by a book.

The collection currently consists of 35 modules. Because one of the goals of the project is to encourage a collaborative approach to teaching Canadian history, we invite submissions to the Project from interested instructors across Canada. We plan to add modules to the database each year, enriching the pool of resources from which instructors can draw. In this way, Visions becomes a collection of best teaching practices in Canadian history, created by Canadian historians for Canadian historians and their students.

We invite you to be a part of the team!

Each module is 48 pages and combines primary and secondary documents with a contextual introduction, questions for the students to consider, annotations to guide the students, and a brief bibliography of relevant literature.

Please send a brief description of the topic you intend to cover, as well as a tentative list of primary and secondary sources you would consider including, to:

Mark Grzeskowiak
Managing Developmental and Acquisitions Editor, History

All submissions will be reviewed by the Visions Editorial Board.

We look forward to collaborating with you and your colleagues to create excellent resources for students!
